WWW Wednesday – January 2nd, 2019

I’m so glad to have stumbled on this weekly round-up… Many thanks to Nickimags of the Secret Library Book Blog for putting this on my radar šŸ™‚

It’s actually hosted by Sam of Taking On A World Of Words and this is the first time I’ll be taking part in it so I hope I do it correctly…

Here goes…

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What I’m Currently Reading

Right now I’m wrangling two books (actually three, but I’m almost done with one of them).

On The Mountain Of The Lord is a book I’d heard a lot about as it has to do with all the events that are happening (and are supposed to happen) in the Middle East.

On The Mountain Of The Lord

This is a book I’d heard a lot about as it has to do with all the events that are happening (and are supposed to happen) in the Middle East.

I’ve always been intrigued by the Middle East because it seems like such a mysterious place to me and with three of the world’s major religions having their roots there but also having such major conflicts amongst themselves, my interest has always been piqued.

So far, I have to say, I’m struggling a little bit while waiting for the story to really take off. Some parts leave me a bit confused but I’m hoping it will all get pulled together nicely.

I’m currently almost at the halfway point.

The Stylist

Okay, this is a bit faster-paced than the above book and that’s just how I like it šŸ™‚

You have to kind of be a little bit of a reality TV fan (which I am) to really get backdrop of this novel.

I’m still at the very beginning of the book but find myself already giggling at times at some of the dialogue, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds.

What I Recently Finished Reading

I just finished reading The Ninja’s Daughter by Susan Spann. It is the 4th book in the Hiro Hattori Mystery series.

The novel is set in the 1500s in Kyoto, Japan and perfectly blends in Japanese history and culture with the story.

Reading this book took me on a wonderful vacation to olden days Japan and was also very educational as well because the author is obviously an aficionado when it comes to all things related to Japan and the history and culture of the country and people.

I did full review of this book on my blog already and if you’re interested you can read it here.

What Do I Think I’ll Read Next?

Well, seeing as how I already stocked up on my next few books from the library, I think the most likely one I’ll read next is Lies by T.M. Logan. It’s a mystery novel, and I love a good mystery. šŸ™‚
